I've tried connecting to a MySQL and a SQL Server DB and in both cases the schema browser is completely empty. I can execute SQL however. I want to buy this tool, but if this isn't going to work, I can't.

Thanks!

Ryan

Ryan, just open an editor window first.

I did, notice I mentioned that I could execute SQL fine.

When I start SQL Grinder is automatically opens a browser and an editor. I log in via the editor first, then the browser, no schema. I close the browser and open a new one, no schema.

For some reason there are cases where MS SQL Server installations won't return the schema information in the necessary format, so nothing gets displayed. The most common cause is not specifying the schema name with the proper case. There might also be permissions issues. I still don't know exactly what causes it beyond these two cases though, but I'm still looking into it.

This has been a tough one for me, because I haven't been able to reproduce the problem, and it seems to be server specific. Is there any way that I can be given temporary access to a server for testing? Then I'd be able to see exactly where the schema retrieval goes wrong.

To schedule some testing time, just send email to sqlgrinder [at] advenio.com.

Michael,

I can offer you some time on our development server which has this problem. We could establish a webex (we have an account) to my machine here and you could test.

Feel free to send me an email.

Daniel
